| Snare Drum Duet Book No.1 ($8.00) | A duet method for beginning snare drum students.
Syncopation and rhythm reading progress in a thorough, systematic manner
starting with basic quarter notes in four-four time, to two-four, and
three-four meter, adding dynamics and off beat syncopations with counting
notated above rhythms. Accents, crescendo/decrescendo, and mix-meter are
introduced by Duet 15. Duet 19 introduces sixteen notes, flams by Duet 21,
five-stroke rolls start with Duet 23.
The book ends with Duet 27 which is intermediate in level, summarizing all of the learned rhythms and techniques. Excellent for group snare drum class. Start snare drum students with this book! |

The title refers to the state park located in Waterford, CT and was inspired by the expertise of the fine U.S. Coast Guard Band conducted by Louis Buckley based in New London. A percussionist who has studied with two members of the Boston Symphony percussion section, Briggs has written tastefully for the percussion with fine use of mallet instruments. It has much sensitive writing for the band and is a challenge both musically and technically. (click for MP3)
